A Small Batch of Happy..

As we get closer to the end of August and the beginning of the school year, I'm finding myself more and more tired.. I'm almost thinking I should get checked out, but that would mean needles and I don't like those evil instruments of Satan..

But that's another topic for another day...

I got an envelope from everyone's favourite Strawberry fan and "Fan" of 1995 Fleer, Peter.

A while back, he had a trade bait post up and I decided to check again to see if there was anything that was left that I wanted, but didn't take because I didn't want to be greedy the first time around...

I found a couple cards..
He also put aside a Topps Bunt JA Happ for me and at another point mentioned he had 1987 Topps Box Bottom cards that he was looking to maybe rehome..

I figured since I'm almost done the complete 1987 (just need a couple variations) I'd mention I'd take the box bottom cards..

Today... They arrived..

I really liked those 100 Years of Wrigley cards.. For some reason, I feel the bottom one is another one featuring Fergie Jenkins, but I'm not 100% sure.

The first of the three Box Bottom cards I got..

And the other two.. This puts me at 6 of 8.. I just need "A" and "B" which are Don Baylor and Steve Carlton.

I'm likely going to cut these out so I can put them in my box with the rest of the set..

Thanks Peter!

  1. The Wrigley 100 cards are cool. That Fergie/Maddux is likely when they had a joint retirement ceremony for their shared #31.

I remember those '87 Topps box bottoms well. Not as well as '88 though.

  2. Please get checked out. I came literally five minutes away from dying in April 2013 because I refused to go to a doctor. I was so bad that I will never get fully better more than likely...could have been prevented if I had not been so adamant about going to the doctor. By the way, I now have to poke up to ten holes in myself every day, 8 minimum. I'd be lying if I said it was fun, but it sure does beat the alternative, and most of the time it doesn't doesn't hurt.

  3. Hope you feel better! I hate needles too and avoid the doctor as much as possible. However I think this year I'm gonna actually go and get my blood tested and do a full check up since I'm getting old.

P.S. Love those box "sides". I remember cutting them out 30 years ago.

  4. I'm with Billy, get yourself checked out...please. I hate needles, but I feel so much better than I was a handful of years ago just because I now go to the doctor regularly. It's worth it.
