Hello Friends!
Normally I'd be doing my usual post about Canada Day by pulling the Jays singing "This Land is Your Land" out of the mothballs, and probably the I Am Canadian rant, but not today..
Today I'm going to show some of the pics I took at Musicfest so far. I'm volunteering there this summer as a merch seller.
The first concert was Gowan and as you can see, it was a beautiful evening. Lots of people showed up too. You can see the shirts we have for sale in this pic as well.
The merch table is off to the side of the stage, so while I didn't see the show, I heard it. He did the Strange Animal album and a couple other songs from his catalogue. I believe this year is the 40th anniversary of the Strange Animal release.
People were still milling about. It would fill soon enough.
I believe it was around this time we were fighting with our payment machine. Couldn't get it to work, so we got a handheld unit and used that.
And here's a picture of the weirdo who runs this blog showing off his volunteer badge.
Tonight was supposed to be Neon Nostalgic. I'm not quite sure what that is, but yeah.. Those clouds? Ominous. Within 10 minutes of this picture, we had heavy winds, and the beginning of a lengthy heavy soaking rain.. The backstage area was trashed by the wind. There might have been equipment damage.. Just not a fun sight. The rain went on for about an hour.
This was after the rain ended while I waited for my cab. The drowned rat I was.. The concert and the fireworks for Canada Day were cancelled. Our next concert is Saturday when the Good Lovelies take the stage at Del Crary Park. I'm not sure when the fireworks will happen. Maybe tomorrow.. Maybe Saturday on the next show.
I also got some cards in a couple weeks ago that, I'll be honest, have been putting off posting. I'm trying to actually find more information about them and failing.
It's the Toronto Blue Jays 50th Anniversary Hobby Box of cards. This is the box right from the website
And this is the box I received. Has no MLB or Fanatics logos. Has no manufacturing information at all.. I can't even find a checklist for it.
This is the wrapper for the cards. Again, not really like what's shown in the photo above.
I'll go in depth on them next post.
So, Happy Canada Day from the Great White North. Hope you all go out for a rip and give-r. Keep your stick on the ice and don't be a hoser, eh?
