Some Expos and Stadiums

On this last day of June, I'd like to show off a trade I made with Twitter member and TCDB member MjPrigge.

We've followed each other on Twitter for a while now, and I believe have made a couple transactions before as well. At one point he showed off some autographed cards and I commented about a couple.

Since they were duplicates for him, he decided to send them to me, and since we're both on TCDB, he put together a transaction and off we went..

First we have some Topps Gold Winner Expos. They're easier to read in scan than they are in hand. That's rather annoying.

The Expos continue with a Fernando Seguignol and a Gary Carter 1983 All Star throwback from 2012. (it seems as though Topps has been hitting the retro/nostalgia button hard over the last 10-15 years, no?)

I've mentioned it before, but I love stadiums. Just how each stadium is different, aside from that 90 foot square in made of dirt. Dimensions, wall heights, covered or non... All different. All unique..

*ahem*

Right.. And a Nick Pivetta to add to the Canadians collection.

The two cards I commented on..
Now.. I have a Ken Singleton autographed card from 1972, I believe.. This one is 1974.
And while I may be a day late...
Johhhhhnnnnnnnn Bocccccccccccccaaaaaaaaaaaa belllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
makes an appearance as well.. (it was his birthday yesterday)

Thank you Matt!

Now.. Tomorrow is July 1.. That means it's Canada Day!
I'll likely have something posted tomorrow about that.. We'll have to see just what I have up my sleeve.

2002 Grandstand Vermont Expos

Today is the 2002 Grandstand set.
The 2002 Vermont Expos went 30-45 for the season
So who made up this team??

Again, standard Grandstand look. I actually really like the look of these from year to year.

Here's the back of a card.
For some reason, I thought he made the Majors.. But I guess he didn't.

This picture is interesting.. I almost feel like the cropping makes this look weird.. Is he helping a pitcher with a grip? Is his other arm made of rubber?

Dave Barnett was the manager for the team.

I will admit, the first time I saw this, I thought it was Fielder..

Here's the front of the Larry Broadway card..
Now.. Can I just draw attention to the uniforms?
I know the Expos colours are red white and blue...
But.... Why is the US flag theme in the Expos script?

Here's a closer look at what I mean..

We have a Canadian on the team. French Canadian even!

So of the players on this team, 4 made the Majors..
Jason Bergmann
Mike Hinckley
Mike O'Connor
Darrell Rasner

The Baseball Cube mistakenly has Brian Anderson making the Majors as well. but it's a different Brian Anderson.

2003 Grandstand Vermont Expos

Today I want to show off the 2003 Grandstand Vermont Expos set I purchased from the Vermont Lake Monsters site

Who made up this band of merry misfits that went *checks notes* 19-56?
Of the guys that made up this set, two played in the Majors.

I have some Upper Deck of this guy.

Dave Barnett was the manager for this team. 2003 was his last year managing.

Jerry Owens had 129 games in the Majors over 4 seasons.

Kory Casto spent 82 games in the Majors with the Washington NotTheSpos.

As with the other Grandstand sets I covered, I really like the look of these. I think I have one or two more Grandstand before I have something else..
