1990 Fleer Canadian

An interesting set this is. 1990 saw two versions of Fleer's base set. One was printed in Canada, while the other was printed in the United States.

As you can see, the only difference on the cards were the manufacture line.

The fronts are identical. Unlike other Canadian sets, 1990 Fleer was produced in English only. The packs were different as well, as the ones produced in Canada sold in packs of 10, while the American ones were in packs of 15.

In general the design is standard late 80s early 90s Fleer. I didn't know about the different versions until I happened to look on the back of the card one time. I have the Jim Corsi in both Canadian and American versions. Because of the similarity, there really is no value difference between the Canadian and American prints.

I think it would have been nice to have some distinction on the fronts, even if it was the position in both languages.

  1. Mike, I have looked all over for Brewers from the Canada version with little success. Are the Canadian versions easy to find for you?
