1988 CMC Vancouver Canadians

 After a small hiatus from this series, I'm back with it.. 

Today the Vancouver Canadians. 

At the time, they were the Triple-A affiliate for the Chicago White Sox

The 1987 team went 72-72

The 88 team went 85-57

So who made this team up??


Adam Peterson made the majors for the White Sox from 1987-1990 and the Padres in 1991.
He spent from 1984-1990 with Chicago and 1991-1992 with San Diego. 

Bill Lindsey spent part of 1987 in Chicago as his only Major League experience. 
He played from 1981-1988 for the Yankees (81-86), and White Sox (87-88)

Carl Willis played for Detroit (84), Cincinnati (84-86), Chicago (88), and Minnesota (91-95) in the Majors
Overall, he spent time with Detroit (83-84), Cincinnati (84-87), Chicago (88), California (89), Cleveland (90), Minnesota (91-95) and California again in 95.  
What's interesting is that he actually spent two seasons in Vancouver with two different teams. 

Daryl Sconiers played from 1981-1985 in the Majors for California
Overall, he played for California (77-85) and (90-91), and the White Sox (87-88)
He also spent time on the Independent San Jose Bees and in Mexico

Dave Gallagher played in the Majors for Cleveland (87) Chicago (88-90), Baltimore (90), California (91), New York Mets (92-93), Atlanta (94), Philadelphia (95) and California (95)
In addition to these times in the Majors, he spent time with 
Cleveland (80-87), Seattle (87), Chicago (88-90), Baltimore (90), California (91), Mets (92-93), Atlanta (94), Philadelphia (95) and California (95) 

Donn Pall played in the Majors from 1988-1998 for Chicago (88-93), Philadelphia (93), New York Yankees (94), Chicago Cubs (94), and Florida (96-98)
Overall, he played for the White Sox (85-93, 95), Phillies (93), Yankees (94), Cubs (94), Marlins (96-98), and the Reds (99)


Ed Wojna played in the Majors from 1985-1987 for the Padres and in 1989 for the Indians. 
Overall, he spent time in the Phillies (81-83), Padres (84-87), White Sox (88), Indians (89), and Athletics (90) organizations. 

Grady Hall never made the Majors. 
He played for the White Sox (86-91), Indians (91), Dodgers (92), and Orioles (92) organizations. 

Greg Hibbard played in the Majors for the White Sox (89-92), Cubs (93), and Mariners (94)
Overall, he spent time in the Royals (86-87), White Sox (88-92), Cubs (93), and Mariners (94) organizations. 

Jack Hardy spent part of 1989 in Chicago as his only Major League experience. 
He spent all but one year with the White Sox (81-89), finishing his career with Texas (90)

James Randall played for the White Sox for four games in 1988 as his Major League experience. 
He played in the Angels (81-87) and White Sox (88) organizations. 

Jeff Bittiger played in the Majors for Philadelphia (86), Minnesota (87), and the White Sox (88-89) 
He also played in the Mets (80-85), Phillies (86), Twins (87), White Sox (88-89), Dodgers (90), Indians (91), Athletics (92, 95), and Royals (93) organizations. 
He also spent time in the Northern League 
Rochester (93), Winnipeg (94, 95), and Fargo-Moorhead (96-2002) 

Jeff Schaefer played in the Majors for the White Sox (89), Mariners (90-92), and Athletics (94)
Overall, he played for Baltimore (81-85), California (86), Los Angeles (87), Chicago (88-89), Seattle (90-92), Cleveland (93), Oakland (94), and Baltimore (95) 

Joel Davis played in the Majors for the White Sox from 1985-1988
He spent all but one season with the White Sox organization (83-88), finishing with Cleveland in 1989

Jorge Alcazar never made the Majors. 
He spent his entire minor league career (84-88) with the White Sox organization. 

Kelly Paris played in the Majors for St Louis (82), Cincinnati (83), Baltimore (85-86) and Chicago (88)
Overall, he spent time in the Cardinals (75-82), Reds (83), Pirates (84), Orioles (85-86), White Sox (88-89), and Royals (89) organizations. 
He also played in Mexico in 1990

Ken Patterson played in the Majors for the White Sox from 1988-1991, Cubs 1992, and Angels in 1993-1994
Overall, he played for the Yankees (85-87), White Sox (88-91), Cubs (92), Angels (93-95), and Royals (96-97) organizations. 

Marlin McPhail never made it out of the minors. 
He played in the Mets (82-86), White Sox (87-90) and Expos (90) Organizations. 


Mike Woodard played in the Majors for the Giants from 1985-1987 and the White Sox in 1988
Overall, he played for the Athletics (78-84), Giants (85-87), Astros (87), White Sox (88), Yankees (89) and Indians (89) organizations. 

Mike Yastrzemski never made it out of the minors. 
he played for the Braves (84-85) and White Sox (86-88) organizations. 
This is Carl's son, and the father of the current Mike Yastrzemski.. 

Ron Karkovice played from 1982-1997, All with the White Sox organization. 
He spent from 1986-1997 in the majors. 

Russ Morman played in the Majors for the White Sox from 1986-1989, Royals from 1990-1991, and Marlins from 1994-1997
Overall, he played in the White Sox (83-89), Royals (90-91), Reds (92), Pirates (93),  Marlins (94-97, 99), and Rays (98) organizations. 

Santiago Garcia never made it out of the minors. 
He played for the Blue Jays (84-87), White Sox (88) and Indians (90) organizations. 

Steve Rosenberg played in the Majors for the White Sox from 1988-1990 and the Padres in 1991
Overall, he played in the Yankees (86-87), White Sox (88-90), Padres (91), and Mariners (93) organizations. 

Troy Thomas never made it out of the minors. 
He spent his entire career with the White Sox organization 1983-1988

  1. I've heard of a few of these guys. Karkovice, Sconiers, and Gallagher the most.

  2. I remember a few of these guys too. Never heard of Mike Yastrzemski... but it's a pretty cool card considering his dad is a hall of famer and his son was one of the best hitters on the Giants this season.
