1988 CMC Portland Beavers

 Today I'm talking about the Portland Beavers

In 1987, they went 45-96

in 1988, they went 76-66

So who was on this team??


Allan Anderson (not Andy) played for the Twins from 1986-1991. 
Overall, he played for the Twins (83-91), Yankees (92), Rangers (93), and Indians (93) organizations. 

Bobby Ralston didn't make the Major Leagues
He played for the Twins (84-89) and Athletics (90) organizations. 

Brad Bierley nver made the Majors.
Overall, he played for the Twins (85-89) and Cubs (90-91) organizations. 

Brian Harper played in the Majors for the Angels (79-81), Pirates (82-84), Cardinals (85), Tigers (86), Athletics (87, 95), Twins (88-93), and Brewers (94) 
Overall, he played for the Angels (77-81), Pirates (82-84), Cardinals (85), Tigers (86), Athletics (87, 95), Twins (88-93), Brewers (94) and Mariners (00) 

Chris Pittaro played for the Tigers 1985 and Twins 1986-1987

Doug Baker played in the Majors for the Tigers from 1984-1987 and the Twins from 1988-1990

He played for the Pirates (85-86), Twins (87-89), Expos (90), and Brewers (91) organizations. 

Jim Mahoney was one of two managers for the team. 
This was his last job managing or coaching in baseball. 

Jim Shellenback's only managerial work was in 1988. The rest of his time was spent as a pitching coach, working with Elizabethton from 1994-2012

Steve Liddle never played in the Majors

TR Bryden played 16 games for the Angels in 1986

Vic Rodriguez played 11 games for Baltimore in 1984 and 6 games for Minnesota in 1989

He also played in Mexico in in 1992. 

Winston Ficklin didn't make the Majors

  1. Well, Brian Harper and Mark Portugal. Seems odd that Harper is listed as a 1B instead of catcher.
