Hello Friends!
I received my box shipment from Sportlots today which was kind of nice. I knew most of what I was getting, but I forgot there were things in there from about a year ago..
Most of what I got was 1983 OPC to finish off the set.. I may or may not have missed a couple stragglers for the team sets, but I'll figure out that later..
The rest is very Canadian-centric.
First is a Tim Harkness 1962 card. He was from Lachine Quebec and spent the early 60s in the majors and minors for the Dodgers and Mets. I found out he passed away last year living down the road from where I live, in Courtice, ON.
This was picked up simply because it's a Jay, It's OPC, and someone I know needed a copy as well, so I got two.
John Rutherford reprint. It's from the 1993(?) reprint of the set
Tim Harkness as a Met. The Wiz set, was a 450 card set put out in 1991. There are different sponsors on the back, but no card has more than one sponsor (IE: 150 has one sponsor, 150 had the second, 150 had the third. There weren't cards that would have one sponsor then printed with another one later or anything like that)
This, I think, ended up being a card I already have. .I'll have to verify when I get back into my back room.
The Target Dodgers cards. That monster set had a number of Canadians who had played for the Dodgers. Harkness, Rosen, Rutherford, O'Rourke.. I may have missed some Canadians in the set.. I'll figure out again later
Finally, a Keebler Texas Rangers card of Steve Wilson. Like the Target set, this Keebler set is basically every Ranger who played. I did pick up other Canadians who played, but for some reason, those ones were cut off from this order.

Lots of Dodgers there! I have trouble buying individual 1990 Target cards because they're so flimsy but I need so many of them!
ReplyDeleteWe need a new Target set of all the franchises.
ReplyDeleteYour John Rutherford card was issued in 1991. The next Archives set was released in 1994.
