Hello Friends!
Today I want to post about longtime Blue Jays Jim Clancy.
He sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 69. He pitched for the Jays from 1977-1988. He then played for Houston and Atlanta before retiring.
He was the first pitcher for the Jays to 100 victories.
I never got to see him pitch but Clancy and Dave Stieb were the anchors of the 80s pitching staffs.
Rest in peace, Jim.
I remember Jim Clancy well. I feel like I may have seen him pitch in the 80s at some point in person against the Brewers, but I couldn't tell you for sure. Solid pitcher.
ReplyDeleteSad news. There's a chance I got a chance to see Mr. Clancy pitch back in the 80's. Even if I didn't, I remember pulling his cards from packs.
