Hello Friends!
I'm at a time right now where I have all sorts of ideas, but can't get past the idea stage. I want to continue with my stadium profiles. I want to work on stadium cards again. I want to get organized in my collection. I just have functional paralysis when it comes to getting stuff done it seems.
Honestly, it doesn't help that Chrome has made it impossible to save pictures from websites now. It saves as a full browser page. I may need to see if Edge will work for that portion of my ideas..
Anyway..
Recently I got some cards from JKatz. A group of 79 Topps.. Honestly, I got the stack for one card.. An Expos card to put towards the million.
This one.. I'll be honest, the first time I saw the cap logo on both Fry and Sanderson, I was confused, because it looks like Detroit's. Turns out the Denver Bears used that for their caps for a while.
The other cards are as follows:
I honestly loved those uniforms and wish I was old enough to have seen them in their hayday (I was 1)
So according to a quick search, this looks to be West Palm Beach Stadium. The Braves held Spring Training there for years. At the time the seats were... Red? (not sure.. Colour blind) but then they were switched to blue.
The structure in the top right is the roof that covers the seats behind home plate.
Dennis Martinez as an Oriole.
I wonder if this could be considered a batting cage photo?
So these are all available. As I mentioned, I only got the stack for one card lol

ReplyDeleteAt first glance, I was confused by the D on Sanderson and Fry too. Thanks for clearing that up.
ReplyDeleteGood stuff. I've seen that Expos prospects card many times but never bothered to figure what the D on the hat stood for. ... Also my eyes lit up when I saw that Cardinals team card -- must be a holdover from when I was completing the set and one of the last cards I needed.
