Sunday was the end of the regular season for MLB. Quite a few races and seeding came down to the final day. 

The Jays and Yankees went into Sunday in an effective tie. The only way the Jays could not be the division winner was to lose against Tampa and the Yankees win.. 

Both teams won. In prior years, it would mean game 163. A win or go homegame to determine the champ. This year, they used a tie breaker system. The Jays, by virtue of winning the season series, had the tiebreaker. 

As a result the Jays are off till the weekend. This is their first division title since 2015.
