Today was a hibernation day. I had a day off work and I didn't get out of bed till after noon.
Anyway, two pages
Card 271 is a 1998 Topps Pedro Martinez.
Card 272 is a 1993 Score Select Moises Alou in front of the ivy in Wrigley.
I like the timing of the photo, Alou getting ready to run to the ball.
Card 273 is a 1992 Score Ron Hassey.
Another name in the "He played for the Expos? Really??" file.
He played 52 games for the Expos in 1991.
Card 274 is a 1991 Leaf Dennis Martinez
Nice to see him against a brown background rather than a blue one this time.
I want to say this looks like a bullpen shot, given the foul line behind him.
Card 275 is a 1974 Ron Hunt.
In 1971 as a member of the Expos, he got hit 50 times, setting the modern record. (The all time is 51 by Hughie Jennings in 1896)
He lead the league in HBP for every year except 1974.
Card 276 is 1993 Donruss Doug Simons
I think this is a Wrigley shot.
Well, this would be why I don't remember Simons..
He played 7 games for the Expos in 1992. Before that he just had 42 games with the Mets in 1991.
Card 277 is a 1993 SP Cliff Floyd
I couldn't pass up adding Floyd's smiling face
Card 278 is a 1993 Topps Chris Nabholz.
I like the photo used with the follow through
Card 279 is a 2002 Bowman Brad Wilkerson
I love the photo used here, getting ready to hit the ball.
Card 280 is a 1986 Topps Tim Raines
I did have a different card selected, but I found out I needed it elsewhere. (It was a Stadium Club Larry Walker)
So this one wins out by default, really.
MISSING: 281
Card 282 is a 1988 Donruss Andres Galarraga.
I do like the border on the 1988 set
Card 283 is a 1992 Leaf Ivan Calderon
Card 284 is a 1994 Bowman Marquis Grissom
Looks like Wrigley. I wonder if he scored on this play
Card 285 is a 1995 Bowman Moises Alou.
It almost looks like Alou is trying to remember if he turned the stove off..
Card 286 is a 1994 Collector's Choice Larry Walker
This has to be one of my favourite all time cards.
Card 287 is a 1984 Topps Warren Cromartie
That photo is a perfect timing shot. Ball is being launched off the bat.
Card 288 is a 1992 Leaf Bret Barberie.
It looks like a check swing attempt to me, but I could be wrong.
Tomorrow will be Pages 33 and 34
Love that Walker!
