1987 International League All Stars

Today I want to look at a set of cards I got as well as the 1988 CMC cards. 

It's the 1987 International League All Stars.. 

Al Leiter as a member of the Columbus Clippers, Triple A for the Yankees at the time. 

He was traded to the Jays in 1989 for Jesse Barfield. 

Also played for the Marlins and Mets.

Cal's Brother shown as a member of the Rochester Red Wings, Triple A Affiliate to the Orioles. 

As well as playing for Baltimore, he played for Texas, Cleveland, and Detroit. 

Of course, he's best known for the Bat Knob card in 1988 Fleer. 

Brad Arnsberg was a member of the Columbus Clippers. 

He played in the Majors for the Yankees, Cleveland, and Texas. 

He is probably better known as a pitching coach. 

Bruce Fields was a member of the Toledo Mud Hens in the Detroit system

He played in the Majors for Detroit and Seattle. 

Chris Padget played for the Rochester Red Wings. 

He didn't make the Majors, but spent his career in the Orioles organzation. 

Craig Worthington played for the Rochester Red Wings. 

He made the Majors for Baltimore, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Texas. 

Dave Griffen played for the Richmond Braves in the Atlanta system.

He never got above Triple A.. 

He played for the Braves and Tigers systems. 

Don Gordon shown here as a member of the Syracuse Chiefs. 

He made the Majors for Toronto and Cleveland. 

Ed Nottle was the manager of the squad. 

He was manager of the Pawtucket Red Sox. 

Jay Buhner here as a member of the Columbus Clippers. 

He actually played some games in the Majors for the Yankees before being shipped off to Seattle. 

Jeff Ballard shown here as a member of the Rochester Red Wings

He played in the Majors for Baltimore and Pittsburgh. 

Jeff Blauser played for the Richmond Braves

He played in the Majors for Atlanta and the Chicago Cubs

Jeff Moronko played for the Columbus Clippers. 

He actually played some games in the Majors in 1984 for Cleveland before heading to New York. He also played in New York for part of 1987. 

Jim Walewander played for the Toledo Mud Hens. 

He played in the Majors for Detroit, California, and the Yankees. 

John Marzano played for the Pawtucket Red Sox 

Marzano played in the Majors for Boston, Texas, and Seattle. 

Jody Reed played for the Pawtucket Red Sox

I only ever knew him as a Red Sox player, but he also spent a season with the Dodgers, two seasons with the Padres, a season with the Brewers, and a season with the Tigers. 

Neal Keith Miller played for the Maine Guides, the Phillies Triple A team

He played in the Majors for the Phillies as well. 

I wonder why he decided to go with Keith... Especially with.....

Keith Allan Miller played for the Tidewater Tides, Triple A team of the Mets. 

He spent time in the Majors for the Mets and Royals.. 

Kevin Elster played for the Tidewater Tides. 

He played in the Majors for the Mets, Yankees, Philles, Rangers, Pirates and Dodgers. 

Mark Carreon played for the Tidewater Tides

He played in the Majors for the Mets, Tigers, Giants, and Indians. 

He was always someone I liked using in the video games of the time. 

Marty Clary played for the Richmond Braves. 

He made the Majors for the Braves. 

Mike Henneman played for the Toledo Mud Hens. 

He played in the Majors for Detroit, Houston, and Texas. 

I honestly don't remember him anywhere other than in Detroit. 

Nelson Liriano played for the Syracuse Chiefs. 

He played in the Majors for Toronto, Minnesota, Colorado, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and Los Angeles. 

Orestes Destrade played for the Columbus Clippers

He played in the Majors for New York, Pittsburgh, and Florida. 

Pete Stanicek played for the Rochester Red Wings. 

He played in the Majors for the Orioles. 

Randy Milligan played for the Tidewater Tides. 

He spent time in the Majors with the Mets, Pirates, Orioles, Reds, Indians, and Expos. 

Randy Velarde played for the Columbus Clippers

He played in the Majors for the Yankees, Rangers, Angels, and Athletics. 

Rey Palacios played for the Toledo Mud Hens. 

He made the Majors for the Kansas City Royals. 

Rob Ducey played for the Syracuse Chiefs. 

He played in the Majors for Toronto, California, Philadelphia, Texas, Seattle, and Montreal.

He's Canadian (so I'm looking for two more copies of this card) and his first MLB home run came in the 10 Home run game by the Blue Jays. 

Roberto Kelly played for the Columbus Clippers

He played in the Majors for the Yankees, Rangers, Reds, Twins, Rockies, Braves, Expos, Dodgers, and Mariners.  

Sam Horn played for the Pawtucket Red Sox.

He played in the Majors for Boston, Baltimore, Cleveland, and Texas

Scott Lusader played for the Toledo Mud Hens. 

He made the Majors for the Tigers and Yankees. 

Sil Campusano played for the Syracuse Chiefs. 

He played in the Majors for the Blue Jays and Phillies. 

There was a lot of hype around him in Toronto when he came up.. 

Todd Benzinger played for the Pawtucket Red Sox

He played in the Majors for Boston, Cincinnati, San Francisco, Kansas City, and Los Angeles. 

Todd Stottlemyre played for the Syracuse Chiefs. 

He played in the Majors for Toronto, Oakland, St Louis, Texas, and Arizona. 

Tom Bolton played for the Pawtucket Red Sox

He played in the Majors for Boston, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Baltimore

Tom Glavine played for the Richmond Braves

He played in the Majors for Atlanta, and the New York Mets. 

Travis Chambers played for the Maine Guides. 

Travis never made the Majors. 

Of the team, three players did not get a taste of the Major Leagues.. 

The rest spent at least a few games, and a couple had very solid careers.
