Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada.

This weekend many people are spending time with family and friends, gorging on turkey and other food while generally enjoying the day..

I can't say I was one of them, though I did have turkey yesterday. (Hooray turkey loaf!)

The other portion of it is to give thanks..

So this post is going to be a little sentimental and not really card-showy...

I want to thank those who take the time to read my random rambles here. It's nice to know some people actually want to read my rambles, even though it's most likely people scrolling to the photos and that's it.. lol

In that vein, I want to thank those who have given me support over the past couple months, both here and on Twitter.
Between hearing about others who deal with the same crap as me, well wishing for it to improve, and cheer-up packages, it was really nice. I appreciate it.

I want to thank those who I've traded with over the past year and before. Without trading partners, the collecting hobby becomes very boring and shallow.

Well, I think that's enough of that...

Just because it's a card blog, and a Canadian holiday, here's a card of a Canadian born player who's on a team I hope is done tonight..

Have a good one..

  1. Hey Mike, happy thanksgiving! I may be a relatively new reader of yours, but I do enjoy your rambles just the same.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving! I have some very good friends north of the border, and one still down here finishing up school, so I always try and acknowledge both Thanksgivings!

I must admit, sometimes I get bloggers mixed up. Not so much anymore, now that I've started doing my own and reading much more consistently, but I used to. My point is that I can't say quite how long I've been reading your blog, but I know it's been a while, and I thoroughly enjoy it! I know things aren't always easy, but our toughest times only serve to 1) make us stronger and 2) propel us to something great.

Watching NYY-CLE right now. Yanks are off to a hot start but I'm not counting out Cleveland yet!

    1. Yeah. George Selkirk replaced Babe Ruth for the Yankees and also wore 3..
The nickname came from the way he ran on the balls of his feet.
It's funny.. In WWII he was part of the US Navy, despite him being Canadian..
